Twenty Six: The End of Year post.

I suppose I can't complain about other people not updating their blogs if I don't update mine :P I'm writing this sat in front of the television. I'm watching David Tennant on Alan Carr. In case I haven't made this perfectly clear, I like David Tennant.

Yesterday...I got up late, wrote a short story (Do you want to see it?), made some cookies, sewed a button back on, played (and won) at Mario Kart Wii, watched Billy Elliot and stuffed my face with leftover Pick 'n' Mix and After Eights.

Today I've woken up, realised I can explain my entire relationship history in under sixty seconds, and am now drinking hot chocolate. EDIT: I've now been bowling (played two games with my family, came last and second. Bowling balls are weirdly shaped- I'm convinced they make them for The Incredible Hulk's fingers and forget about the rest of us. I had to have an extra small. It appears I have tiny hands). My Nana's here and we've just had dinner. We discussed Harry Potter, actually, mainly because when my mum said she had too many thoughts, I suggested she get a Pensieve. She looked at me confusedly. Then no one could remember the name of the last film, the next one, and my Dad hasn't. read. the. books. I've decided on a New Year's resolution for him. My mum also said something about Doctor Who and started singing the bassline, and I did the ooh ooh bit over the top. Spontaneous singing for the win! I've also played too much Mario Kart Wii. Frickin' Baby Peach and Baby Mario wouldn't get out the way!

ANYWAY. This year hasn't been particularly good, and if I had one resolution it would be to make sure next year is nowhere near as bad. Seeing as I can't guarantee that, I'll just have to make some other ones. (I didn't make any last year so I can't really say if I've achieved anything) In no particular order, then:

1. Play the piano more.
I'm going to sound like my mum, but there never seems to be enough hours in the day. I tend to practise what I need for lessons. But suppose one day I can't play- and then I'll regret that I didn't play more. Plus, if I go to uni, I won't be able to take my piano with me.

2. Read and write more.
I want to aim to read about forty to fifty books next year. I think I can achieve it- I have enough books to read. As for writing, it seems to me that after NaNoWriMo, I don't tend to write anything other than poetry. But I wrote a short story (probably for the first time since school!) and I enjoyed it.

3. Pray and read my Bible more.
I am currently useless when it comes to sticking to a Bible reading plan, so I'm just going to try and read something every day.

4. Learn a different language.
Specifically Italian. It's a beautiful language and I know a few people who can speak it, including my Dad. I have podcasts from iTunes, so theoretically, this should be easy to do.

5. Finish college.
I want to go to university. Specifically, Chichester. I will get those grades. Somehow...

Those are my main five, the ones that I'm going to focus on achieving. Other minor resolutions include DailyBoothing more, blogging more, sorting out photo albums, scrapbooking, taking my camera with me everywhere.

I've recorded Madagascar so I'm now watching that. There's a zebra surfing waves on two dolphins. I like kids films :)

Happy New Year!

B xxx :)
